Dear participants in the SIP-IOBC 2019 meeting in Valencia, As is customary in the SIP meetings, there is always a "silent auction". The money generated       from this auction is used for the Martignoni Award and is kept separate from the conference finances.

The silent auction consists on displaying the items with a small card where people interested can put his/her name and make a bid. At the end, the one who   bid higher gets the item auctioned and pays the bid amount. Now, we need that you bring items that you could donate for the event, related with the topic of   the meeting, such as books (old or new), T-shirts, paperweight, costume jewelery, pins, etc. Anything with a shape or picture of invertebrate or their   pathogens is fine too!

We thanks you all in advance.

Dear researchers, colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Society for Invertebrate Pathology, the IOBC-WPRS Working Group "Microbial and Nematode Control of Invertebrate pests” and the Organizing Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2019 International Congress on Invertebrate Pathology and Microbial Control & 52nd Annual Meeting of the Society for Invertebrate Pathology & 17th Meeting of the IOBC-WPRS Working Group "Microbial and Nematode Control of Invertebrate pests”, which will be held in Valencia from July 28th to August 1st, 2019.

The Society for Invertebrate Pathology (SIP) was founded in 1967 as an interdisciplinary scientific society that would draw together members from diverse scientific backgrounds all over the world under the unified discipline of invertebrate pathology.

The IOBC working group “Microbial and Nematode Control of Invertebrate pests” was founded in 1985, in response to a need for a forum for scientists in the field of insect pathology in Europe.

The goal of the SIP and the IOBC group is to offer a forum for exchange of information and to stimulate contacts and cooperation between scientists in the field of invertebrate pathology.

2019 will be the year in which the two Societies will put together the first joint SIP/IOBC meeting, in Valencia (Spain). This meeting will serve several purposes. On the one hand, publicize the latest advances in the area of Invertebrate Pathology and, on the other hand, facilitate the exchange of ideas and opinions among researchers in this and related areas, without forgetting the dissemination that companies in the sector can make of the latest advances in the field.

The congress will follow the model of its previous counterparts, with plenary lectures, symposia, oral sessions, poster sessions, divisions meetings and "last, but not least", social events, such as a Welcome Mixer, BBQ, and Farewell Banquet. We hope that this meeting will be an ideal framework to discuss the most current issues in this area and that it will serve to promote R+D+i in this sector, since research, development and innovation constitute one of the fundamental pillars of the economy of the most developed countries.

We encourage you to participate in this event and, by doing so, contribute to its success.
