Award for the best work presented by a young researcher - CO-SPONSORD BY SORT MAGAZINE

With the aim of promoting the research activity of the young statisticians, the XVII Spanish Conference and the VII Ibero-American Meeting of Biometrics will award a prize to the best work done by a young researcher. The works selected as finalists will be presented as oral communication in a special session where the scientific committee will choose the winner.

 

"Florence Nightingale" Award for the best communication with the gender perspective.

The Florence Nightingale prize (2nd edition) funded, on this occasion, by the University of Valencia's Equality Unit, had its first edition at the CEB-EIB in 2015 (Bilbao) and was born due to the need to incorporate and make visible the perspective of gender in all research and, in particular, in the analysis of any type of data.

 

"Susie Bayarri" Award for the best communication using Bayesian methodology.

This award also comes in the CEB-EIB 2015 (Bilbao) as a tribute to Mª Jesús Bayarri (Susie) highlighted Bayesian statistics with worldwide recognition. Susie was president of the SEB between 2001 and 2003 as well as Professor in the Department of Statistics and I.O. of the Universitat de València until his death in 2014.

 

Award for the best poster made by a Young Researcher

The Prize to the best poster presented by a young researcher is being given, in a habitual way, in biometrics conferences with the purpose of promoting research among the less experienced.
